Following on from the success of ‘News Flash’ (reviewed in issue 25), Axel Hecklau has released his new ‘Cap in Bottle’ effect, ‘Cola Cap.
The first thing you notice when you receive the ‘Cola Cap’ package is the size of it. I imagined a smallish package to drop through my letterbox, not the surprisingly large box I had to collect from my local post office.
Everything needed to perform this is supplied (apart from a bottle of Cola). A quick view of the online video will show how good this effect is. The props supplied are well made and the DVD that supports the package shows all the methods and handlings possible. As with ‘News Flash’ I thoroughly enjoyed watching Axel perform and explain the effect on film. He comes across as a genuinely nice and funny guy who has a real passion for his products.
One thing to note with this effect is that there is a degree of set-up. So, if you are wanting to perform this tablehopping, you will either have to set-up multiple bottles or perform the effect using an empty bottle at the start. I personally think you need to start with the bottle sealed but you could start with it opened if you had to. This is another great release from Axel. Recommended. PS
