With this 'reel' version of Ring Flight you receive a black leather zippered key pouch. The zipper runs round the three open sides of the pouch and has to be undone before the keys can be shaken out. To some extent you could say this makes the appearance of the ring inside seem all the more impossible. The clip for the ring is completely different to the hooks in the case, so it doesn't stand close viewing, but with the keys in place and the ring dangling amongst them, it may well be that this goes unnoticed.
The instructions are quite thorough and are accompanied by 17 colour photo illustrations. They give a handling and some patter, but they also give you instructions on how to re-thread the reel should the line break or get worn. Since this is always a possibility with versions that use a reel, I thought it was particularly honest and admirable that the manufacturer took the trouble to tell the purchaser what to do if the worst happens. The reel, which has a locking feature, is concealed inside an internal pocket in the pouch, but it is quite easy to get at it if you need to.
The pouch is made of thin black leather and the zip seems to work quite smoothly. It does take a few extra moments to unzip the pouch as opposed to just snapping open a single popper prior to throwing the keys out into view, so you would need to decide whether this is an issue for you or not. All in all, though, not a bad version for everyday use and at a reasonable price. ML (From the Flying Ring article)
