Menu of Miracles - The Main Course is the third instalment of James Prince’s restaurant magic series. So does it live up to the first two volumes? Let’s take a look.
The first effect is ‘Bleached Deck’. This is a nice quick card effect to kick start the DVD. A card is fairly selected. After a bit of mixing, all the cards turn blank and the selection is found in the pocket.
‘Ready Teddy Go!’ is next up and is a variation of Al Koran’s Flying Ring. Similiar to Martin Sanderson’s effect ‘Little Sausage’ a borrowed finger ring instantly vanishes from the fingertips and ends up attached to a toy bear.
‘Coin Kebab’ is one of my favourite routines from this third volume. A borrowed coin is penetration by a kebab skewer, then handed back for examination. I think a lot of people will be heading for the workshop when they see this one! It will cost you just £3.88 to make up this cracking close up effect. What a bargain!
Another one that is sure to get a lot of attention is ‘JP Wallet’. This is James’ adaptation of a Jennings wallet which enables large loads to be instantly inserted into it at speed. Although the explanation and wallet James uses is a Jennings Wallet, I’m sure this principle could be adapted to most other makes of wallet that are loaded in a jacket pocket.
‘The Bullet Concept’ is an interesting concept. A hole appears in a freely selected, SIGNED card. Three presentations are included on the DVD. ‘Pepper Pot Strikes Again’ is James' classic borrowed ring to tabled Pepper Pot which is revisited on this volume with a significant upgrade.
As well as all the many other effects, that all deserve merit, James continues with another section giving advice on correct table positioning and creativity. If you liked the first two volumes from James, then you’ll be sure to love this one too! PS
