To gain credibility, magicians should really be coming up with their own comedy lines and routines, but I realise that not everyone can do that. Because of the sheer volume of material here, you are sure to find some material which will appeal to you. How about: To a spectator with a 'loud' shirt: "I moved out of my last flat because it had wallpaper like that!"
To Wolfgang's credit, the sections are well laid-out and there are lines on subjects such as: How to handle NO applause, opening lines, and visual gags. He admits that this is a collection of material gathered from over the years, some are original, and others have been passed on from friends who have heard them elsewhere. There are some very funny lines in here, but I would recommend you change the wording of them to suit your own style.
£15 is probably equivalent to a decent packet-trick these days, so I would say the book represents decent value for money – even if you only use a few one-liners. The book claims to be for entertainers and professional speakers, which is a pretty accurate description. GH
